2D Crystals are your exact photos you have sent just the way they are. You can see the image from the front and the reverse image from the back. The image will never wear, tear, or fade away and is within the crystal forever. 3D Crystals are focused mainly on the face of the image. We add depth to the facial features to actually create a profile of the face and laser  the ‘head’ and partial ‘bust’ within crystal. We remove all backgrounds as the focus is on the 3D facial impression(s). The final result is a 3D is very human like. You will be about to watch the object inside of the crystal from all angles and directions, not to mention the movement of the head of the image in various directions.
